Last week I finally had another respectable week with 12 correct picks. Hopefully this week things will start to sort themselves out and I’ll be able to continue with the moderate success I had last week.
Web Directions North

If you haven’t noticed the Web Directions North badge on my sidebar, let me introduce you to the premiere web development conference in Canada in 2007. Web Directions North will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside in downtown Vancouver in February of 2007.
Brought to you by the same group which put on the Web Essentials conferences in Sydney in 2004 & 2005 and Vancouver’s own Dave Shea (CSS Zen Garden, Mezzoblue), this 5 day conference features speakers such as Dave Shea, Douglas Bowman, Cameron Moll, Veerle Pieters, Dan Cederholm, Derek Featherstone and others. These people are some of the most recognizable forces behind standards-based design and have inspired me time and time again. Finally there is a conference of this caliber being held in Canada, and I’m excited to be attending in February.

After another sub-par week last week (7-9 to bring my running total up to 94-66), I’m really hoping that there are less surprises in the coming weeks of the NFL season. This year has been marked by upsets week after week and good teams failing to beat the teams they should be destroying.

As I mentioned in my week 10 predictions, I may or may not be able to update this post before week 11’s games get under way. I’m also not sure whether I’ll be able to update the games and team records after week 10 finishes up until week 11 rolls around, but I’ll do what I can.

Another week, and another round of upsets and bad teams beating good teams. Last week I faired pretty well, going 8-6 on my picks and bringing my total up to 79-49, but I’d still like to raise the bar a little more.
Reasons I Use Flock

I’ve been a Firefox user for a while now and have been completely happy with Firefox as a browser ever since I switched from IE 6. Every now and then though, I’d find myself wishing for a little more in certain areas, especially when it came to Firefox’s RSS integration.
If you read my entry about RSS habits, you’ll remember that I decided to switch to Flock as my default browser based solely on the way it handles RSS feeds, but there are several other features of this browser that make it very nice to use.
