My picks this week are a little later than previous weeks. It’s been a busy one, but I haven’t forgotten.
Last week I ended up going 9-4, which isn’t terrible, but I’d still like to do better. I’m still about 9 games behind the best of the ESPN guys, so I’ll need some really good weeks if I want to catch up.
Reebok’s Monopoly

I’ve been meaning to post something about this for a while now, and maybe the title is a little strong, but the NHL has been back for almost a month now and I’ve noticed several new things about the game, and about it’s marketing. Reebok is all over the place!
Reebok (starting this year) is the official apparel provider for the NHL, which means they’re responsible for providing every team with several different jerseys. Each team usually has at least 3 different jerseys. A home jersey, a road jersey and at least one alternate.

I definately had a better week last week, going 10-4. There were a few games that surprised me, but that’s always going to happen in the NFL.
The New iPod and iTunes 6

So I’ve been paying attention to Engadget & iLounge’s blogs about the Apple keynote that’s going on called ‘One More Thing.’ I have to say that I’m super impressed by the new iPod and iTunes 6. They’re ground breaking, as Apple products always are.
Let’s get right to it. The new iPods are video capable, thinner than the previous iPods, and cost the same amount. They’re available in 30 and 60 GB models in white or black (just like the iPod nano). Because of the video features, they now have a larger screen (2.5 inches, instead of the previous 2 inch screens). It appears that the U2 iPods are now history.

In last week’s picks I went 7 and 7. I hope to do much better this week, but last week was a little surprising on many counts.
CSS Vertical Stretch

Update: Due to Microsoft’s release of IE 7, parts of this article have become outdated. Please be aware that the * html hack for IE 6 causes some issues in IE 7. As an alternative, the best way to apply CSS rules for IE 6 is to use a separate stylesheet that is only read by IE 6 (or lower). Please read my article “Serving Up IE Specific Stylesheets” for more information. To apply the same rules that are listed with a * html hack below, remove the * html portion of the CSS rule and put the rest in your IE 6 stylesheet. If you have any remaining questions, feel free to contact me.
Going to the Dogs

Well, after 5 weeks of unemployment and watching far too much Sportscentre on TSN, I’m going to the dogs. No, I’m not going crazy, I’m talking about Barking Dog Studios. Starting on October 17th, I’ll be their newest employee, and I could not be more pleased to join such an incredible team.

So, last week I had a much better week, going 10-4 and bringing my overall record up to a respectable 33-27. I hope to have another good week this week.
Niagara Falls

Over the weekend I was in Niagara Falls with the family for some touristy activities. Because I live in Southern Ontario, I’ve been to Niagara Falls several times over the years, each time taking in some new experience. The past few times that I’ve been there however, I don’t think I’ve fully appreciated it.
It was different this time though. I found myself amazed again at the raw power and beauty of the falls, and had the urge to snap a few pictures.
